Think two feminine women posing for the camera, tongues visible and hands brushing over breasts, only occasionally digits going lower eg Bound. Even arthouse hits such as Blue is the Warmest Colour have divided audiences: many gay women complained that the seven-minute scene in the film was unrealistic, directed by a man according to his own fantasies — something the lead actors backed up. This does not give a true depiction of the quality and focus of lesbian sexual expression.

Love can indeed take a lot of forms and just confining it to one shape would be very unfair. A lot of times the lovemaking scenes that are filmed in LGBT movies may not necessarily involve actors who are actually homosexual. They have to pretend to be someone they are not, that too in a situation where everyone is watching them.
